Python on Android

Google just announced the Android Scripting Environment (ASE), that brings scripting languages to the Android platform, namely Python, Lua and BeanShell. Finally I can write some applications in my favorite programming language for the Android platform :) .

    We had a conference here about scala and I found a lot of its aspects to be very similar to python … and it can be used for developing application for Android(in an agile way).
    Also how is using python on android scripting Environment going to be different from using jython? I haven’t ever used jython but as far as I understand one can use most of the same standard library ?
